Description: In this course the paramedic student will learn standards and guidelines ensuring safe and effective medical transport by ground and air. Students will learn incident management techniques; develop an awareness of safe operations while working crime scenes, emergencies and rescue scenarios; and learn how to evaluate hazardous material emergencies, call for appropriate resources and work in a cold zone.

  1. Determine safety of an emergency scene.
  2. Interpret a scene and determine best method to deliver patient care.
  3. Describe how to neutralize common risks in a systematic manner.
  4. Demonstrate correct procedure for working in a crime scene.

  6. Evaluate the effectiveness of emergency medical system operations.
