The organizers of the 2020 Herdina Construction Trades Camp are sorry to report that the camp has been canceled due to uncertainties stemming from the coronavirus and COVID-19.

Are you interested in a career in a trade or the construction industry?

At the 2020 Herdina Construction Trades Camp, you'll get both hands-on experience and classroom instruction in a variety of specialty occupations within the residential and commercial construction industry.

This is the 23rd summer for the Herdina Trades Camp, where you'll work side by side with contractors and industry professionals to learn about occupations, tools, safety requirements and skills required for a rewarding career in the construction trades.

Camp set for June 1-12

The two-week camp is June 1-12 on M State’s Moorhead campus and is open to North Dakota and Minnesota residents ages 15 and up. Everyone who attends has the option of earning three credits that could be applied toward any degree in the trades at M State. Cost of the camp is $25.

Camp hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Everyone who applies will automatically be eligible to receive a scholarship from either M State or North Dakota State College of Science, with the winners announced on camp graduation day.

  • Carpentry
  • Casework
  • Concrete forming and finishing
  • Drywall
  • Electrical
  • Excavation
  • Heating, ventilation and air conditioning
  • Plumbing
  • Structural steel
  • Masonry
