Complete the placement process

Take a placement test, if needed. M State uses ACT, SAT, MCA, Accuplacer scores, high school GPA or previous coursework to determine course placement. Accuplacer assessment is available both in-person and online for students who would like to test.

Click HERE to learn more about placement testing or to sign up for the Accuplacer. Questions? Our advising team is happy to help. They can be reached at advising@minnesota.edu or found in the Advising Zoom Room found in your SpartanNet account.

Complete Online Orientation

This valuable experience will help prepare you for your time as an M State student and set you up for success. You can login at https://welcome.minnesota.edu/ using your Office 365 SSO login information. If you have problems logging in, you can either call 218-299-6600 during business hours or submit a ticket at https://bit.ly/3MyawNx

Complete the Spartan Connect Form

This form lets us gather some basic information about you and your needs as you transition to college. You can expect a Success Navigator to reach out to you to connect you to resources after completion. This form should take no longer than five minutes to complete. Complete the form today.

Submit your immunization records

You are required to provide the college with your most recent vaccination dates for measles, mumps and rubella, or MMR (at least one dose required after 12 months of age), and tetanus/diphtheria, or Td (typically updated every 10 years).

  • Fill out our immunization form (under "Admissions" and then "Immunization form"). Please see the form for any exemptions.
Explore your program

You were required to choose a major when you applied to the college. We encourage you to read up on your chosen program online so you know what, if any, special admissions requirements you may need to complete before you can enroll in classes, and so you have a full understanding of the classes you'll need to take in order to complete your degree or diploma.

If you're interested in multiple programs or are still unsure of your major, you may explore your interests by reviewing our program pages and/or signing up for a Career Exploration Session.

Our enrollment team is happy to help answer any questions you might have about your program of study.

They may also be mailed to our M State Processing Center, 1414 College Way, Fergus Falls, MN 56537.
