Description
Students will develop basic photographic and video production skills and knowledge in this course, using a digital camera for a variety of assignments.
Competencies
  1. Adjust aperture, shutter speed and camera focus based on a combination of factors including lighting, field depth, subject motion and film speed.
  2. Demonstrate effective use of digital photo and video cameras with regard to their use in the graphic design industry.
  3. Create artificial light using flashes and reflectors.
  4. Determine desired images and picture composition by selecting and adjusting subjects, equipment and lighting to achieve desired effects.
  5. Manipulate and enhance digital images to create desired effects using computers and specialized software.
  6. Define and apply video techniques such as panning, zooming, camera angle and lighting considerations.
  7. Describe and define A-Roll and B-Roll footage and their roles in video storytelling.
  8. Produce videos using video editing and production software.
  9. Identify and describe various video formats.
