Coursework combines general healthcare knowledge with real-world professional practice in the use of electronic health record systems to fully prepare you for a career with tremendous long-term potential within the growing healthcare industry. Associate degree-level Health Information Technology/Coding professionals obtain well-paying positions in hospitals and a broad range of public health agencies and private industries that use patient information. You could become a coding professional, electronic health record trainer, revenue cycle analyst, information security manager, release of information specialist, medical office manager or health information department manager. You could also choose to further your studies and pursue an advanced degree at a four-year college or university.

Upon completion of the program, you may be eligible to sit for the Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification exam through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
