Description

This course is for students pursuing a cosmetology, esthiology, nail technology and eyelash technology career. Students will learn the necessary precautions and safety measures to ensure a safe working environment. Students must pass all applicable sections of the Infection Control Practical Skills test prior to providing services on live models during preclinical training and prior to providing services on the client clinic floor.

Competencies

Student will demonstrate the proper steps to handle a blood or body fluid exposure incident as if they inflicted an injury on a client.
Student will demonstrate the proper steps to handle a blood or body fluid exposure incident on themselves as if an accidental self-inflicted injury occurred.
Student will demonstrate the proper steps to clean and disinfect an electronic tool or device relevant to their program type.
