Architectural Drafting and Design

You’ll be ready to begin a career with an architectural or engineering firm or construction industry-related contracting, manufacturing or distribution company after completing our Architectural Drafting and Design program. Coursework for both the degree program and the diploma program is reviewed by an advisory board comprised of local and regional industry members to ensure students are developing the skills most wanted by employers. 

You’ll learn the principles of residential and commercial building technology as well as the drafting skills to apply them. Building design software programs, such as CAD and Revit, are important tools for construction and design and thus are key to the coursework. 

The program covers:

• Production of architectural construction drawings utilizing design software
• Assessment of existing conditions of buildings and site layouts
• Calculation of material quantities and final costs of building projects
• Creation and presentation of design concepts
