Description
This is a clinical experience course related to the performance of hematology and coagulation tests under the supervision of laboratory professionals at an affiliate laboratory. This course provides further investigation and study of the methods and techniques related to hematology and coagulation tests.

Competencies
  1. Demonstrate proper laboratory safety techniques and procedures.
  2. Evaluate quality assurance and quality control as they pertain to hematology and coagulation tests.
  3. Perform maintenance and calibration on hematology and coagulation analyzers and equipment.
  4. Perform hematology and coagulation laboratory procedures.
  5. Troubleshoot testing errors and unexpected test results.
  6. Evaluate specimens as acceptable or unacceptable for analysis.
  7. Correlate hematology and coagulation patient test results and theories with states of health and disease.
  8. Comply with course and college policies and procedures.
