Description
This course provides the fundamentals of computer-aided drafting (CAD) using the latest version of the AutoCAD drafting software. The course develops the CAD skills necessary to design and print complex two-dimensional drawings and sheet sets.
Competencies
  1. Format AutoCAD drawing and template settings.
  2. Utilize geometric construction tools to produce drawing elements.
  3. Utilize modifying commands to manipulate drawing geometry.
  4. Analyze dimensioning techniques, annotation tools and dimension terminology.
  5. Calculate dimension, multileader and linetype scale factors.
  6. Create drawing layouts and scaled viewports for both single- and multi-sheet drawings.
  7. Apply hatch patterns to drawing geometry using appropriate hatching techniques.
  8. Design, define and utilize block geometry and attributes.
  9. Interface with the AutoCAD Design Center to incorporate existing drawing information into multiple files.
