Description
This course includes construction management applications in the areas of safety and health. Students will have an opportunity to earn OSHA 30-hour authorization for successful course completion.
Competencies
  1. Explore history of health/safety movement.
  2. Investigate workers' compensation programs/practices.
  3. Examine general OSHA rules/regulations.
  4. Identify means for implementation of workplace safety assessments.
  5. Examine Right to Know and Hazard Communication.
  6. Examine OSHA's Fall Protection rules/regulations.
  7. Evaluate safety/health management responsibilities.
  8. Understand employer requirements for safe jobsites.
  9. Identify various types of construction safety/health hazards and means of hazard mitigation.
  10. Determine the proper application and use for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
