ASL1105 - Advanced Fingerspelling and Numbers

Description
This course focuses on enhancing expressive and receptive fingerspelling and numbers in American Sign Language (ASL). ASL1105 will expand the emphasis on using fingerspelling, lexicalized and abbreviated words, and ASL numbers, along with continued study of the complex rules and patterns of ASL number systems.
Prerequisites
  • ASL 1101 and a grade of B or better in ASL 1101
Competencies
  1. Demonstrate advanced fluency in fingerspelling.
  2. Display advanced comprehension of lexicalized signs.
  3. Demonstrate proper production of fingerspelled words.
  4. Display correct hand and arm position while fingerspelling.
  5. Exhibit advanced proficiency in ASL numbers.
  6. Identify a variety of ASL number systems.
  7. Demonstrate proper production of ASL numbers.
  8. Display correct palm orientation when using ASL numbers.
  9. Use ASL with grammatically correct sentence structure, fingerspelling and number systems.
