Description
This course covers the principles of heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems. Students research service information, including refrigerant/oil types, vehicle service history, service precautions and technical service bulletins. They learn to understand, diagnose and repair various types and designs of heating and air conditioning systems and refrigerants.

- Demonstrate proficiency in understanding and communicating service manuals and technical information to accurately diagnose and repair systems.
- Identify and explain the operation of heating and air conditioning systems.
- Follow current rules and regulations for service of all heating and air conditioning systems.
- Correctly identify and perform cooling system service, including back flushing.
- Correctly identify air conditioning refrigerant types and repair procedures.
- Correctly perform evacuation and recharge of vehicle air conditioning systems to current regulations.
- Properly diagnose climate control systems using the latest electronic scan tools.
- Follow the latest industry diagnostic and repair standards.
