Description

Meets MnTC Goal Area 6. The M State Concert Choir is a non-auditioned group that meets three times per week on a regularly scheduled basis. The group studies and prepares music from various musical periods and geographic regions, and performs a minimum of one concert each semester. The group also participates in campus life venues as they arise, and occasional tours. May be repeated for credit.

Competencies

  1. Analyze music as expressions of individual and human values within a historical and social context.
  2. Respond critically to various music using elements of music, such as melody, rhythm, texture, harmony and timbre.
  3. Engage in the creative process or interpretive performance, and demonstrate communication skills necessary for living and working effectively in a society with great population diversity.
