I chose M State because they have a program that fits me perfectly, and it’s within driving distance of my home. I was working in manufacturing, and I didn’t want to change fields when I’ve been in the industry for 15-plus years.
I enjoy learning different software, and 3D printing was a blast. The instructors I’ve had were awesome and very helpful. I had Diana Schirmer as an instructor for Professional and Technical Writing, and she did an awesome job – writing was never one of my strong suits, but she made writing fun for me.
My career opportunities have expanded since I started at M State two years ago. With my knowledge of different drafting and modeling software, I’ve already moved up to a different position as a programmer and put my education to use. I’m proud of my accomplishments, including making the President’s List for three semesters while attending college and working full-time.
Chris Tuinstra will graduate in December 2019 with his degree in Drafting and 3D Technologies. He plans to continue working for his current employer to gain more experience with drafting software.
