Area Learning Center transition

Since the last update in February, we have learned that the Detroit Lakes Area Learning Center (ALC), currently located on the M State campus, will be vacating the building at the end of the academic year. 

As part of this transition: 

• The ALC will vacate its classrooms in the B wing. 
• The gymnasium space currently used by the program will also be vacated. 
• The kitchen will continue to be used by the school district for food preparation; however, the kitchen will not be open for public food service. 

Board of trustees 

Strategic facilities planning is a topic of discussion during the March 17-18 Minnesota State Board of Trustees meeting. Factors and trends impacting the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities will be presented at the meeting. M State President Carrie Brimhall attends these meetings.
