Submit official transcripts

If you attended any other colleges/universities, you’ll need to contact them to request official transcripts be sent to M State.  The M State Records Office will retrieve transcripts from other Minnesota State institutions on your behalf.

Review information about military transcripts here and proceed with transcript requests as needed. 

Do you have potential exam credit from AP scores, International Baccalaureate, CLEP, or DSST? Request those transcripts, as well. 

Apply for VA education benefits

Whether you are new to VA education benefits or have used them at another college or university, get started on the application process now so your benefits are ready by the start of the semester. Click here to get started! 

Apply for financial aid

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. 

Applying for financial aid is recommended for all students, even when VA benefits or other military funding may be covering your expenses. Learn more about M State’s financial aid process here.

After you are admitted...

Once admitted to M State, you’ll be directed to complete action steps like: 

  • Placement testing (if necessary) 
  • Signing up for a registration event (we offer in-person and virtual events) 
  • Downloading the M State Mobile app
