Minnesota G.I. Bill

Eligible applicants can get up to $5,000 per fiscal year, with a $15,000 lifetime maximum. Eligible applicants must apply every new fiscal year; applications open each July.

Some spouses and children are eligible also. For more information, visit Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs and complete the application.

Minnesota National Guard State Tuition Reimbursement

Minnesota Veteran Education Benefit

For undergraduate students, this is a one-time grant to veterans who have exhausted their federal education benefits. Learn more and apply at Department of Veterans Affairs.

Minnesotans' Military Appreciation Fund

MMAF is a non-partisan, non-political, 501(C)(3) nonprofit corporation. The mission of MMAF is to say "thanks" to Minnesota Service members and their families who are making sacrifices in the defense of our freedoms in combat zones around the world.

Minnesota Surviving Spouse & Dependent Education Benefit

This grant is for spouses and dependents, including adopted and stepchildren, whose veteran spouse or veteran parent died while on active duty, or from a service-connected condition. Recipients can attend a public Minnesota university or college free of tuition until they obtain a bachelor's degree. MDVA also provides $750 per fiscal year for fees, books, and supplies, and/or room and board.
