Important information for visiting students

After you've submitted a visiting student application and received registration confirmation from the Admissions Office, please review the following important information:
  • Visiting students are able to take one or two classes (seven credits or less) but are not eligible for financial aid.
  • Visiting students need to access M State's student portal, SpartanNet, for college resources. Access SpartanNet at minnesota.edu/SpartanNet with your StarID and password. If you need to retrieve your StarID or password, select Reset Password
  • All students have access to a college email address within SpartanNet. Students should check their M State email on a daily basis. If you do not know your email address or have questions on how to access or activate it, stop by or call the Computer Help Center.
  • M State provides a detailed list of important dates and deadlines at minnesota.edu/events.
  • To view or make changes to your course schedule, log into SpartanNet. Select E-Services>Courses and Registration>View/Modify Schedule. It is important to review your course start dates and last day to drop or withdraw.
  • The Minnesota State college and university system policy requires that minimum payment criteria be met prior to the Registration Cancellation for Non-Payment deadline, which is the 6th business day of each term. To avoid having your courses canceled due to non-payment, please arrange payment. View your payment options here. If you have questions, please contact the Business Office at businessservices@minnesota.edu
  • There is a period of time each semester when you can adjust your schedule by adding or dropping courses. After this period has ended, you may withdraw from courses until the deadline.
  • M State's Office of Accessibility Resources supports our college's commitment to providing equal access to education for all students. Visit minnesota.edu/accessibility-resources for more information.
  • The M State bookstores have items you need to be prepared for class, including computer software, tools, supplies and apparel and gear. Access the bookstores at minnesota.edu/bookstores
