Scott Brantner holds a master’s degree in history from California State University, Northridge, and completed post-baccalaureate studies in classical languages and literature at the University of California in Los Angeles. His academic background also includes graduate study in Florence, Italy, where he served as an archaeological dig team leader at Cetamura del Chianti.
Brantner brings a wide range of educational and cultural experience to the classroom, having taught at the secondary and postsecondary levels and served in the United States Peace Corps in North Macedonia. His teaching philosophy centers on making history and the humanities engaging and meaningful, encouraging students to explore multiple perspectives and develop a nuanced understanding of the past. He believes this approach empowers students to think critically and live independently.
Outside of teaching, Brantner enjoys home brewing, running marathons, yoga, hiking, camping, skiing, gaming, drawing, gardening and martial arts.
