Working on campus is a great way to gain experience, provide a service to M State, and earn while you learn in a flexible and supportive work environment tied to the academic calendar. You can earn $17 an hour for up to 10 hours of work per week and win prizes by participating in fun activities to learn employment skills.

- Your financial aid status will be verified by the Financial Aid Office. If eligible, your application will be forwarded to hiring managers for each job for which you applied.
- Hiring managers will contact you set sent up an interview if your application matches their need.
- If you're selected, your hiring manager will help you complete the necessary employment forms and will provide orientation and training for your new job. You will be asked to review the On-Campus Student Employee Guide, sign a contract of understanding, complete employment forms, and complete safety training.

Description and desired qualities
The food pantry assistant provides support to the overall operation of the campus cupboard. This position is ideal for anyone considering a career in public service or looking for ways to give back to their campus or community. Duties include:
- Support operations and overall mission of campus cupboard food pantry
- Greet students visiting the campus cupboard and offer support with selecting items
- Assist students visiting the pantry by explaining process and informing them about handouts available for community/campus resources
- Stock and replenish food/supply items on shelves and in refrigerator/freezer
- Maintain a clean and inviting space for students to access which includes cleaning counter space, shelving, inside fridge & freezer
- Communicate inventory needs and recommendations
- Collect donations from the campus community
- Provide training/orientation of campus cupboard operations to volunteers
Qualifications
- Must be able to work independently and represent the M State Campus Cupboard in a professional manner
- Good customer service skills with the ability to work with a variety of patrons
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Must be able to lift boxes, canned items, and packages up to 25 pounds

- Assist with recruitment, enrollment, community engagement, and other events throughout the semester
- Provide prospective student outreach including phone calls, email messages, and mailings
- Periodically staff Student Services desk, answering phone calls and assisting students and patrons
- Assist students and visitors to navigate M State website and SpartanNet
- Complete clerical tasks such as making copies, assembling folders, etc.
- Work on projects for Student Affairs staff members

- Assist the librarian and academic specialists with the daily operation of the library and provide library services to students, faculty and staff
- Perform check-in/check-out of materials
- Shelve and organize materials in a pre-established order
- Physically prepare new materials for circulation, repair old items when necessary and process items to be withdrawn from the collection
- Demonstrate the use of databases
- Maintain the library facility such as dusting, arranging tables and chairs
- Provide some support with office tasks (i.e. answering the telephone)
- Help users operate library equipment such as computers and printers
Qualifications
