Description
This course is designed to introduce students to the principles and practices of prior learning assessment and to serve as a guide through the process of assessing learning acquired outside the traditional university classroom. The course provides a framework for describing specific areas of college-level learning and the documentation verifying those claims.

Competencies
  1. Demonstrate experiential knowledge and skills equivalent to what is taught in the traditional classroom.
  2. Describe and understand preferred learning styles related to both experiential and classroom learning.
  3. Reflect upon prior life experience to analyze the learning outcomes achieved related to six experiential learning goals.
  4. Articulate past, present and future educational goals and connect way to apply acquired learning to program objectives.
  5. Explain the rationale for the assessment of prior learning and discuss its significance in contemporary higher education.
