This course is designed to assist students in developing career exploration skills and strategies through self-exploration, cultural perceptions, and career and major identification. Students will identify major/career possibilities.
Competencies
  1. Conduct a self-assessment using personality profiles, interest inventories and personality instruments.
  2. Appraise major and career choices utilizing career-related resources.
  3. Conduct informational interviews with persons employed in student's areas of interest.
  4. Synthesize discussion concerning historical/cultural/societal influences on career decision choices.
  5. Evaluate decision making styles and setting realistic goals.
  6. Create a career profile that includes personality traits, interests and values clarifications.
