Description
This course is an early educational field experience. Students will be placed at a K-12 educational site and be supervised by an experienced instructor. The student's primary role is as an observer of the classroom, but students may be asked to provide assistance in the classroom setting under the instructor's supervision.

  1. Show the ability to document student engagement and learning in PreK-12 classrooms and to describe activities and instructional practices objectively and in detail sufficient for others to make independent judgments about their efficacy.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to identify teachers' decisions and strategies in written narratives and from direct observation and to reflect on how they shape the classroom learning environment.
  3. Develop competence in selected technological skills and ability to plan age-appropriate PreK-12 applications consistent with Minnesota's learning standards.
  4. Construct files of educational resources and show the ability to use them to plan learning activities for PreK-12 classrooms.
