In this course, students learn about the various rod sizes, wrap patterns, different types of perm solutions, and how they work together to alter natural curl formation. Students gain an understanding of the chemical change caused when applying permanent wave solution and neutralizer while maintaining the integrity of the hair.

  1. Define permanent waving services and different types of waving solutions used to perform these services.
  2. Identify the four types of tools that are used to perform chemical texture services and the proper decontamination practices required to remain compliant with the Minnesota Board of Cosmetology.
