Definitions

Suspended Academic Program

A suspended academic program is one that is not admitting students for current or future enrollment but may be reinstated by a college or university without seeking approval under Minnesota State system Policy 3.14 Academic Program Approval.

Policy

Minnesota State Community and Technical College may suspend a major or program. If the suspension is approved by the College and the Office of the Chancellor, the College will make all efforts to communicate with admitted, enrolled and prospective students as soon as possible. The communication will list options for students, including the opportunity to complete the degree in a specified time period. Immediately following the suspension announcement, the College will not admit student to the major/program. All applicants will be given alternate program options at the College.
