Purpose

Minnesota State Community and Technical College is committed to and supports aggressive affirmative action steps and programs intended to remedy the historical underrepresentation of persons of color, women, and persons with disabilities in the workforce.


Policy

Minnesota State Community and Technical College adopts Minnesota State system Board of Trustees Policy 1B.2 Affirmative Action in Employment, as College policy 1050-1-01.

President or Designee

Serve as the Affirmative Action Officer for the College and establish the M State Affirmative Action committee.

Affirmative Action Committee

Review, update and make recommendations concerning affirmative action; provide assistance in developing and preparing the Affirmative Action Plan; identify and report problem areas and recommend needed corrective action; serve as a forum and channel for transmitting affirmative action concerns to College administrators.

Administrators and Supervisors

During employment searches, serve as the search committee chair for applicable positions and work with Human Resources to ensure affirmative action steps and programs are adhered to.
