"I was a receptionist at a spa in high school, and ever since then, I’ve known what I wanted to do. I currently work as an independent contractor at a salon in Bemidji, and am in my last esthetician course now.

I previously took courses in cosmetology and massage therapy, and I’ve liked all of my classes for different reasons. I like the flexibility and understanding that we’re all given by the instructors here at M State. They know you have a life outside of school and are very understandable and personable people, while encouraging you to get your stuff done.

What I've found is that, if you’re going to do a college program, you’ve got to take it seriously. With a lot of beauty industry stuff, you get out of it what you put in. So you’ve got to make the most of it."
