Purpose

To notify employees and/or interested parties of vacant positions, screen candidates for final recommendation in a consistent manner and to provide a guide for interview teams.

Policy

Minnesota State Community and Technical College will adhere to a pre-hire review and a hiring process and procedure that ensure uniformity and compliance with various state and federal laws.

Responsibility

President
  • Ensure there is a process/procedure in place and that administrators/employees comply when hiring.
Campus Designee
  • Makes final decision for faculty hires.
Dean (Campus and/or Strategic)
  • Will be part of each interview team.
  • Has authority to override the recommendation of the interview team.
  • Makes hiring recommendation to the Campus Designee.
Affirmative Action Officer/HR Director
  • Writes/updates the policies and procedures for review.
  • Meets with each Interview Team so all rules and regulations are understood.
  • Assists interview teams, Campus Designee and Dean in the hiring process.
