1. Complaint

Deadline: None. The process begins when a complaint is received.

2. Intake

Timing: As soon as complaint is filed.

3. Notice of investigation and allegations (NOIA)

Timing: Immediately after decision to charge.

4. Investigation

  • Start: Within 1–2 weeks of NOIA.
  • Duration: Typically 1–3 months.

4a. First review and comment period

10 business days.

4b. Investigator revisions

Approximately 2 weeks.

4c. Second review and comment period

10 business days.

5. Hearing

Typically 1–3 days.

6. Outcome

Issued within 2 weeks after the hearing, with written notification.

7. Appeal

Appeal request

3–10 days after outcome notice.

Appeal decision

Typically 2–4 weeks.

8. Sanctions and remedies

Implemented immediately upon appeal determination. Processes may reset if the appeal returns the case to an earlier step.
