Housing contracts are for the entire academic year and may be cancelled only upon review.
For the 2025-26 academic year, housing students are not required to purchase a meal plan as there's no longer a traditional cafeteria on campus.
Students have affordable, flexible dining options including:
- Grab-and-go items for sale at the bookstore
- On-campus prep spaces for students to prepare food
- New appliances in campus housing to make cooking easier for residents
- Campus food pantry with free food for students

Each apartment complex has a set of mailboxes. At Williams Hillside, there is a large locking mailbox in the parking lot. At College Manor, there is a set of mailboxes at the main entrance of the building. Each apartment has its own mailbox.

Yes, each apartment comes with a full-sized kitchen.
The only rooms that have double occupancy are located in Williams Hillside Village and include a shared bathroom.
Each apartment common space area comes with couches and a table. Each bedroom comes with twin XL size bed plus a dresser and desk.
If you are having any difficulties with your roommate(s), please contact the housing and enrollment coordinator to discuss options. Please note that room changes may not be available.
Early arrivals are generally not permitted; however, you may request to move in early by contacting the housing and enrollment coordinator. Some athletic teams may move in early, subject to approval.
Late departures are not typically permitted but you may request to stay late by contacting the housing and enrollment coordinator.
Laundry rooms are available in each apartment building. The cost of laundry is included in your housing charge.
Residents are responsible for cleaning and maintaining their apartment. Residents may be subject to charges and/or the student conduct process if apartments and/or rooms are unreasonably dirty or damaged beyond normal wear and tear.
Room changes may occur after the third week of each semester, but room changes are not guaranteed and may result in a different housing charge amount. To request a room change, please contact the housing and enrollment coordinator.
Pets are not permitted in the apartments. Registered emotional support and/or service animals are permitted. All assistance animals must be registered with M State Accessibility Resources before bringing them to live on campus.
Yes, you may have guests. Please note that the resident hosting a guest is responsible for the conduct of their guest and may be held accountable should a violation of the Student Conduct Code occur.
Overnight guests are limited to three consecutive nights and no more than four times per semester (12 nights per semester). A guest who stays longer than 72 hours (or is present with unreasonable frequency) will be considered an illegal occupant, and the responsible host may face disciplinary action.
Housing contracts are for the entire academic year, unless otherwise stated. If you need to appeal to be release from your housing contract, please contact the housing and enrollment coordinator.
Each apartment building is co-ed, but individual apartments are not co-ed.
Housing charges will be added to your student account once per semester. Expect two sets of charges for the academic year: one charge in the fall semester and one charge in the spring semester.
Parking passes are available at the Legacy Hall front desk. Parking on campus without a parking pass may result in a ticket or fine.
Renter’s insurance is not required but highly recommended. M State will not cover expenses related to personal property damage or theft.
Please contact the housing office immediately to get your keys replaced.
