Building Appraisal timeline

In April we shared that a building appraisal is planned. The purpose of the appraisal is to better understand the current value of the facility and identify deferred maintenance and repair needs. Once the contract for the appraisal is finalized, we will update you with a timeline of when the appraisal will be completed by.

2026-27 Academic Year/Detroit Lakes Campus Academic Programs

We want to reaffirm our commitment to launching both the Nursing and Radiologic Technology program cohorts for the 2026–2027 academic year. As shared in the April 2026 update, these programs remain a priority and the success of the programs is dependent on clarity for students and families; we anticipate a successful start to both programs next year. M State’s Administrative Team is engaged in conversations with local healthcare facilities regarding collaborative partnership opportunities that would allow for shared space and on-site instruction at their facilities.

Statewide Facilities

It is important to note that conversations regarding strategic facilities planning and long-term sustainability extend beyond the M State Detroit Lakes campus. Colleges and universities across Minnesota are seeing changing enrollment patterns and financial pressure. This topic will continue to be on the Minnesota State System Board of Trustees’ meeting agendas.
