M State Foundation and Alumni offers scholarships for students on the Detroit Lakes, Moorhead and Wadena campuses.
Deadlines
The fall 2026 semester scholarship application opens April 1, 2026, and applications will be accepted through the July 31, 2025 11:59 p.m. deadline.
Award disbursement
Students will receive notification of awards or denials by Aug. 22, 2025.
Recipients will receive payment to their account in mid- to late September, after the college drop period.
Eligibility
Eligibility for M State scholarships is determined by:
- Admission status at one of the following campuses: Moorhead, Detroit Lakes, Wadena, online.
- Enrolled at least three-quarter time (9 credits) for the semester the scholarship would be awarded
- Not enrolled as a Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) student
- Academic standing (minimum GPA of 2.0 or GED equivalent)

- Be prepared to answer questions about yourself, including your academic history, career objectives and school/community involvement. Your answers are used in reviewing and scoring the applications, so use proper spelling, grammar and punctuation.
