Sarah Dixon-Hackey earned her undergraduate degree in healthcare administration from Concordia College and a master's degree in business administration from North Dakota State University. She has been teaching in higher education for 21 years and also worked in the nonprofit industry for 23 years.
Dixon-Hackey has served on various boards and community coalitions, including the Jeremiah Program of Fargo-Moorhead, NAMI North Dakota, the Clay County Suicide and Substance Use Coalition and the Cass-Clay Suicide Prevention Statewide Coalition. From 2020-2025, she was the North Dakota Public Policy Ambassador for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. In spring 2025, she was awarded a 2-year Leadership Fellowship from the Bush Foundation.
As a long-term instructor and driver of community change, Dixon-Hackey believes in equipping students with both academic and real-world knowledge to help them be effective, empathic and well-rounded members of their communities. She values communication, integrity and a willingness to stay open to new experiences.
