Jessica Canevello holds a master's degree in nursing, with a focus in nursing education, from Minnesota State University in Moorhead (MSUM), along with a bachelor's degree in nursing from MSUM and an associate degree in nursing from North Dakota State College of Science. She is also a Certified Nurse Educator.
Canevello brings more than 20 years of hospital nursing experience, primarily in medical-surgical care, with additional clinical experience in oncology, surgical nursing, case management, sepsis coordination and clinical documentation improvement. She has also spent 10 years working in long-term and transitional care settings, giving her a strong perspective across the continuum of patient care.
She integrates real-world clinical experience into classroom and clinical instruction and believes nursing is a team effort. This philosophy shapes her inclusive, supportive teaching approach, emphasizing collaboration, communication and shared responsibility to prepare students for safe, high-quality patient care.
Outside of work, Canevello enjoys Minnesota sports, time at the lakes with her family, and life with her dog and two cats.
