Brooks Pederson

Construction Management Instructor
218.299.6547 - Moorhead campus
Brooks Pederson has a bachelor of science degree in construction management from North Dakota State University and is a 10-hour and 30-hour OSHA Construction authorized trainer. He is the camp coordinator for Herdina Construction Summer Camp. Pederson's teaching philosophy is grounded in a nuts-and-bolts, real-world approach to learning. Drawing on extensive experience in the construction industry, he focuses on practical application and real-life examples that prepare students for the realities they face after graduation. He believes students learn best when concepts are tied directly to how they are used in the field. Students come first for Pederson, and he says their success beyond the classroom is his primary measure of effectiveness. He values clear expectations, hands-on learning, and mentorship that helps students build both technical competence and professional confidence. Outside the classroom, Pederson stays active and spends time outdoors. He bird hunts, trains dogs, bow hunts, coaches skeet, enjoys long-range shooting, fishes year-round, and visits the Boundary Waters each summer. He has a strong interest in weight training and nutrition as important parts of maintaining balance, discipline and long-term health.
