Description

This course provides students with the opportunity to develop skills in gun and range safety while participating in organized clay target sports. Emphasis is placed on the hands-on learning of safe shotgun handling, mental focus, and the technical skills required to break clay targets in disciplines such as trap, skeet or sporting clays.

Corequisites

  • Students are required to provide their own firearm and personal protective equipment.
  • Students must have a valid firearms safety certification prior to participating in competitions. Students can earn their firearm safety certification by taking a firearm safety course offered during the course by the coach.

  1. Demonstrate safe firearm handling and storage per USA Clay Target League standards.
  2. Apply technical shooting skills in a competitive environment.
  3. Execute virtual competition protocols, including score recording and submission.
