Are you interested in chemistry, forensic science or how the world and our bodies work on a molecular scale? M State's AS degree in chemistry gives you the foundation for a variety of careers in chemical-related fields.

The 60-credit degree is offered on our campuses in Fergus Falls and Moorhead.

Career opportunities for chemists

There are varied career paths for chemists depending on skills and interests. Graduates of the Chemistry AS program may find career opportunities as technicians in the analytical labs of industries such as petroleum and biofuels.

Options for chemists with bachelor's and master's degrees include careers in laboratory research, forensic science, science education, chemical engineering, medicine, health sciences, the chemical industry, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, environmental sciences, food science, law, hazardous waste management, geochemistry, metallurgy and consumer products.
