Administrative Assistant to Dean of Nursing

Responsibilities:  
  • Provide administrative support in the areas of Curriculum and Instruction.
  • Perform duties in support of the General Academic Administrative function. 
  • Provide administrative support to the Dean of Nursing in the area of staff activities. 
  • Other duties as requested.
  • Must be able to travel to meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:  
  • English sufficient to fluently speak, write, read, understand and be understood in responding to a variety of written and oral communications, questions, detailed instructions and procedures.
  • Customer Service Skills sufficient to provide information to clients, including phone calls and walk-in contacts.
  • Accounting/budget/expense skills to accurately track and record budgets to ensure accurate record budget transactions, payment of all invoices, expense vouchers, and supply and equipment order.
  • Typing/keyboarding: (50 wpm) sufficient to produce documents, letters, and reports.
  • Data Entry Performance skills sufficient to accurately enter data into spreadsheets and databases.
  • Word Processing sufficient to quickly and accurately produce technical/legal documents, using proper business grammar, spelling, and usage.
  • Spreadsheet experience sufficient to maintain data and produce reports.
  • Desktop publishing.
  • Database Management skills sufficient to develop and correctly enter information in a database, produce ad-hoc queries, and develop reports for management use.
  • Lead work skills (e.g. the experience, organizational and/ or personal skills necessary to perform hiring, assigning work, directing, scheduling, and/or manage an office).
  • Driver’s license (possession of valid driver’s license).
Preferred Qualifications:  
  • Associate degree in administrative support or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible work experience in the area of administrative support preferred.
  • Substantial knowledge of office management principles and practices, sufficient to identify and address problems, plan and organize multiple assigned projects, and work efficiently, decisively and professional with all work assignments.
  • Technologically competent in using various office hardware and software applications to prepare complete charts, graphs, tables, etc.
  • Broad knowledge of the documentation methods used in curriculum development and modification.
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive, positive and professional working relationships with both internal and external customers of the college.
  • Broad understanding of the mission, purpose and vision of the college.
  • Knowledge about the documentation methods related to student records.
  • Personal and professional integrity and ethics.
Licensing:  

Additional information about this position:

  • Part-time (20 hours per week Monday through Friday)
  • Eligible for partial insurance
  • Salary Range: $14.22 to $18.84 per hour

Responsibilities:  
  • Recruit students for Minnesota State Community and Technical College.
  • Develop and implement recruiting strategies for multiple campuses of Minnesota State Community and Technical College to ensure continued growth and strength in enrollment numbers.
  • Advise students to help them determine the campus and program that best meets the student needs.
  • Provide general admissions services to prospective students who are considering attendance at the college, applicants to the college and students who are accepted and enrolled at the college.
  • Work with students through the admission and registration process.
  • Develop relationships with area high schools and agencies and make recommendations to change/enhance the primary MSCTC recruitment territory.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Enrollment Management 
Minimum Qualifications:  
  • Bachelors Degree.
  • Knowledgeable of educational issues and concerns and the resources available to students.
  • Thorough knowledge of higher education principles, programs, and processes.
  • Knowledge of enrollment management practices and processes; exceptional public relations, presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Good leadership, organization, and computer-use skills. 
  • Ability to plan and prioritize a variety of tasks and meet deadlines is critical. 
  • Ability to lead and facilitate group processes and decision-making, commit to supporting new initiatives or processes, promote their success, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Ability to project a professional image and use professional judgment is of primary concern since the position is an official representative of the college; a reflection of the incumbent is also a reflection of the college. 
  • Excellent goal setting and follow-through skills in order to enhance and document recruitment success. 
  • Knowledge in recruitment and information strategies; customer/student service standards; continuous quality improvement methods; advertising and promotions strategies, and computer applications.

  • The position functions in an informal counseling role requiring an additional set of human relations, problem solving, and referral skills.

Dental Hygiene Instructor - Adjunct

Responsibilities:  

Temporary part-time/adjunct Dental Hygiene Instructor to teach courses on the Moorhead campus of Minnesota State Community and Technical College. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Minimum Qualifications:  

Education:

  • Bachelor or above degree in health science or health occupation discipline

Occupational Experience Requirement:

  • 4000 hours of occupational experience as a licensed dentist or dental hygienist in a clinical practice providing direct dental patient care

Recency Requirement:

  • One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Professional Licensure:

  • Graduate of a dental or dental hygiene program accredited by the American Dental Association (ADA) commission on Dental Accreditation and
  • Licensed to practice as a dentist or dental hygienist by the Minnesota Board of Dentistry
Preferred Qualifications:  
  • Certified by the MN Board of Dentistry in nitrous oxide/oxygen inhalation sedation, excess bond removal, with rotary instrument, and enameled sealant placement
