Description: This course teaches basic life support using American Heart Association or American Red Cross guidelines and first aid using American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons(AAOS) or American Red Cross guidelines.

Competencies:
  1. Perform CPR and foreign body airway obstruction technique on adult manikin.
  2. Perform victim assessment.
  3. Perform bleeding/shock control.
  4. Manage fractures, dislocations, sprains, and strains.
  5. Manage common medical/traumatic emergencies.
  6. Manage burn, heat, cold and poisoning emergencies.
  7. Perform CPR and foreign body airway obstruction technique on child manikin.
  8. Perform CPR and foreign body airway obstruction technique on infant manikin.
  9. Demonstrate use of AED- Automated External Defibrillator.
