Program Overview

Intended for students interested in the various fields of biological science, including cell biology, bioengineering, environmental science, fish and wildlife management, forestry, genetics and microbiology, this associate degree program is also excellent for students interested in a medical profession, such as chiropractic medicine, dentistry, optometry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine and medical technology.

M State's small class sizes mean personalized instruction in foundational courses such as general biology, inorganic chemistry, algebra, trigonometry, calculus and statistics, setting you up for a smooth and successful transition as you continue on to pursue an advanced degree in biology.

Transfer Pathway associate degree programs make it possible for you to seamlessly transfer into designated bachelor's degree programs at any of the Minnesota State system's seven universities: Bemidji State University, Metropolitan State University, Minnesota State University Mankato, Minnesota State University Moorhead, Southwest Minnesota State University, St. Cloud State University and Winona State University.

When you complete a Transfer Pathway associate degree, you are guaranteed junior-year status within your designated bachelor’s degree program; your 60 credits earned at M State will directly transfer.
