M State is growing its program lineup for fall, and these additions are built around you. Whether you're starting fresh, changing careers, or adding credentials, these new programs connect directly to in-demand jobs. Explore what's new at M State and find your fit.

Coaching Certificate

  • Length: 16 credits | Location: Fergus Falls
  • Careers this program prepares you for: School sport coaching, youth sports coach

Want to coach at the high school level or in youth sports? This certificate gives you the foundational skills, from sport psychology to injury prevention - and meets Minnesota State High School League and state statute requirements for head coaching at the high school level. You'll also be qualified to coach youth at a wide range of skill levels in school districts and youth sports organizations. It's also a built-in component of the Sport Management and Health & Recreation AAS programs.

Foundational AI Certificate

  • Length: 9 credits | Locations: Moorhead and online
  • Careers this program prepares you for: Roles in business, operations, marketing, and strategy that leverage AI and data

AI is reshaping every industry. This certificate prepares you to lead change, not just keep up with it. You'll learn how to use AI tools strategically, make data-informed decisions, and integrate AI responsibly into your organization, with no prior technical background required.

Graphic and Digital Design AAS

  • Length: 60 credits | Location: Moorhead
  • Careers this program prepares you for: Graphic designer, UX/UI designer, brand specialist, marketing

Turn your creativity into a career. This two-year degree prepares you for work in branding, web design, social media, print, motion graphics, UX/UI, and advertising. You'll graduate with a professional portfolio, hands-on experience in industry-standard design software, and knowledge of key marketing concepts.

Health and Recreation AAS

Length: 60 credits | Location: Fergus Falls

Careers this program prepares you for: Personal trainer, fitness instructor, recreation director, athletic coach, wellness coordinator

If you love fitness, coaching, and helping people move better, this degree is your path to a career that's a perfect fit. You'll build expertise in human movement, strength and conditioning, sport psychology, and leadership, as well as fitness, coaching, recreation, and athletic performance. And, you'll have earned a coaching certificate after just two semesters!

Civil Technician Diploma

  • Length: 32 credits | Location: Wadena (new)
  • Careers this program prepares you for: Survey and mapping technician for engineering and construction firms, land development and surveying companies, government agencies and environmental and energy companies

Launch a career in civil engineering with hands-on training in the tools and techniques that shape modern construction and land development. You'll gain practical experience with total station and GPS equipment, level surveys, property and land surveys, and road design, and build the real-world skills employers in construction and engineering are looking for.
