Pre-Professional Health Transfer Pathway

Gain a strong educational foundation in math and science at M State, where you can enjoy all the advantages of a smaller, affordable community college, so you can go on to confidently pursue advanced degrees at medical, pharmacy, veterinary, dentistry and chiropractic schools, and in occupational therapy, physical therapy and physician assistant programs.

Our Transfer Pathway degree programs seamlessly transfer into designated bachelor's degree programs at any of the Minnesota State system's seven universities: Bemidji State University, Metropolitan State University, Minnesota State University Mankato, Minnesota State University Moorhead, Southwest Minnesota State University, St. Cloud State University and Winona State University. 

The Pre-Professional Health Transfer Pathway coursework covers algebra, trigonometry and calculus, as well as biology, genetics, chemistry, statistics and more. You’ll learn:

• Fundamental chemical and biological concepts
• Lab skills
• Critical thinking skills and quantitative tools to evaluate data and other scientific information
• Basic inquiry skills including developing testable hypotheses and carrying out experimental procedures 
• Analysis of scientific studies in light of their environmental, economic, social, ethical and cultural implications
• Effective communication of data and analyses

When you complete a Transfer Pathway degree program, you are guaranteed junior-year status upon transferring into your designated bachelor’s degree program; your 60 credits earned at M State will directly transfer.

Earn College Credits in High School

High school students interested in pursuing a degree in healthcare may be able to save time and money on their college experience by completing college credit-bearing coursework while still in high school, at no cost to them. M State collaborates with many high schools in the West Central Minnesota region to offer college-level academic programming. Course offerings vary by school and program.
