Application Process

Housing Application

Housing and dining

We are excited for you to join our on campus family! You may apply to live on campus by logging into SpartanNet, selecting eServices, and then choosing Housing and Dining from the menu options on the left.

If you have problems submitting the application, please contact the Office of Housing and Residential Life via email at housing@minnesota.edu or call 218.736.1635.

Prepayment Policy

M State provides affordable student housing. There are options available, but the residence halls fill up quickly, so apply soon to select your desired room choice.

Prepayment Policy

All students are required to make a $50 prepayment to complete the application process. This is not a deposit and is refundable. Applicants forfeit $50 administrative fee if they withdraw their application after June 30.

  • Returning residents who submit a completed application and prepayment by April 15 may select their room beginning April 16, and will typically have their building and room preferences honored.
  • New residents with a completed application and prepayment are eligible to select their room beginning May 16.

The M State Fergus Falls Office of Housing and Residential Life will send Housing Assignment Confirmations via email in late July for fall term applicants and early December for spring term.

Housing & Residential Life Policies

Housing & Residential Life Student Guidebook

We hope you make this year a memorable one. To ensure that we do, we need to establish the ground rules for living on campus. We recognize and support your rights as adults. In turn, we expect that you will accept responsibility for your decisions and actions as well as demonstrate concern and support for your neighbors' needs and rights.

Like any other, our community has rules and expectations. Most of them are based on common sense and common courtesy, as well as state and federal law. Several are designed to create and promote a community that supports all its residents. Others address issues of your safety, security and general well-being. They are all meant to provide a structure that can make living on campus as safe, supportive and enjoyable as possible. Please make yourself familiar with the 2018-2019 Housing and Residential Life Student Guidebook.

M State Student Handbook

The Student Handbook applies to those students who choose to reside on campus. Please read and make yourself familiar with the M State Student Handbook.
