Trista Simon works in the M State ceramics lab.Nearly 60 pieces of artwork created by Trista Simon of Underwood will be on display at Minnesota State Community and Technical College through Jan. 31 in the Charles Beck Gallery.

Her exhibit, entitled “Plus, Plus, Also … And,” includes artwork she created during her 2018 summer residency through the Visual Arts Department on M State’s Fergus Falls campus. In creating ceramic pieces, sculptures and three-dimensional art, Trista said she hoped to inspire people of all ages to follow their passion into the art world.

“My exhibit is an overview of how life doesn’t always work out as we planned,” she said.

An artist reception is scheduled for 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, in the Beck Gallery.

M State summer residencies are offered to exceptional visual arts students as an opportunity to explore their work independently. Trista is currently completing her Associate of Arts with a Social Science emphasis and her Associate of Fine Arts degrees at M State, and she plans to graduate in May 2019.
