The choirs of Minnesota State Community and Technical College will join to present “Music of Living” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, in Legacy Hall on the Fergus Falls campus.
Featured choirs include the Concert Choir, Voice Ensemble and Chamber Chorale, all under the direction of Laura Odden Quaintance.
The concert will include musical selections from Randall Thompson’s Frostiana and works by composers Eric Whitacre, Dan Forrest and Eric Barnum, along with music to get the audience into the holiday spirit.
“I have so enjoyed working with the students and the Chorale this fall,” said Quaintance, who is in her first year as M State’s director of vocal music. “This will be the Concert Choir’s third performance of the year, and their selections are fitting for the folk music theme in relation to the life around us, as well as a few pieces that are perfect for the holiday season.”
The Chamber Chorale, she said, “has a sound like no other choir I have heard in a long time. I can’t wait for everyone to hear the energy and passion in their singing.”
Ticket prices are $11 in advance and $14 at the door for adults, and $9 in advance and $10 at the door for students. Tickets are available at the M State Box Office, by calling 218.736.1600, online at mstatetickets.com or at the door.
