M State BPA members excel at national competition

Minnesota State Community and Technical College students won 11 Top 10 awards in a strong showing at the Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference in Dallas on May 9-13.

Winning first place in the category of Business Meeting Management was June Stine of Fargo, who also won 6th in C++ Programming. Other M State winners included:

Brienna Carlson of Moorhead, 2nd in Integrated Office

Brock Ferebee of Fargo, 2nd in Parliamentary Procedure, 4th in Business Law and 10th in Contemporary Issues

Adam Lauinger of Fargo, 3rd in College Accounting, 7th in Parliamentary Procedure and 9th in Personal Finance

Mikayla Sailer of Moorhead, 3rd in Graphic Design and 6th in Digital Publishing

Also competing for M State were Joseph Names of Fargo and Claudio Urrabazo of Moorhead.

The Moorhead campus BPA chapter is comprised of students in the college’s business-focused programs and advised by accounting instructor Nancy Stigen.

BPA is a national organization for college, high school and middle school students who are preparing for careers in business and information technology. More than 6,500 students from across the nation participated in the organization’s business skills competitions, workshops and general sessions in Dallas.
