Campus receptions honor President Kennedy on her retirement

Community members are invited to celebrate the retirement of Minnesota State Community and Technical College President Peggy Kennedy during open houses on each of the four M State campuses in June.

Receptions honoring Dr. Kennedy, who has served as president of the college since 2011, are scheduled for 3-4:30 p.m. on:

  • Wednesday, June 6, in Detroit Lakes (Room F1101)
  • Thursday, June 7, in Wadena (Room M33)
  • Wednesday, June 27 in Fergus Falls (Legacy Hall)
  • Thursday, June 28, in Moorhead (East Commons)

Kennedy, who retires June 30, will be succeeded by M State’s current vice president of academic affairs and chief academic officer, Dr. Carrie Brimhall.

Kennedy has more than 30 years of experience in higher education. She was appointed interim president of M State in July 2011 and named permanent president in July 2012. Prior to her appointment to the presidency at M State, she served as senior chief academic and student development officer at Saint Paul College in St. Paul.
