Minnesota State Community and Technical College welcomes spring with a Choral Extravaganza that includes dinner and a guest appearance by the North Dakota State College of Science Choir on Thursday, April 12, in Legacy Hall on the Fergus Falls campus.
Gospel, rock, pop, jazz and Broadway songs will be performed by the Concert Choir and Voice Ensemble under the direction of M State choral director Teresa Ashworth and accompanist David Stoddard. Special accompaniment will be provided by M State choir members Josh Adedeji on percussion, Titus Torkelson on guitar and Jacob Hanson on bass.
The evening kicks off with a dinner served by members of the Student Government Association at 6 p.m., followed by the concert at 7 p.m. The dinner, included in the ticket price, is provided by Service Food through the Spartan Boosters and features a pulled pork sandwich, potato salad, chips and a cookie.
The M State Concert Band under the direction of Jim Iverson will play during the dinner hour.
Vocal soloists include Titus Torkelson, Jacob Hanson, Ethan Quill, Blair Anderson, Jamie Olson, Libby Poyzer, Tina Rice, Lewis Jackson, Jasmine Rocholl, Taylor Larson, Sidney Imsande, Madicyn Monsrud, Alise Werner and Michael Cox.
The concert also will feature three numbers by the NDSCS Choir under the direction of Bryan Poyzer, who is a member of the M State Chamber Chorale. The concert concludes with a combined performance by the M State and NDSCS choirs.

Through an exchange program between the two colleges, the M State Voice Ensemble will be appearing at the NDSCS choral concert in Wahpeton on April 19.
