Chamber Chorale Showcase set for April 22

Broadway, jazz, country western and gospel music all will be part of the show during the Minnesota State Community and Technical College Chamber Chorale Showcase at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22, in Waage Theatre on the Fergus Falls campus.

The Chorale, under the direction of Teresa Ashworth, features M students and singers from communities throughout the region, including Fergus Falls, Henning, New York Mills, Battle Lake and Fargo Moorhead. Carol Mikkelson will emcee the Showcase Concert.

Selections will include Rhythm of Life  from Sweet Charity, Blue Skies by Irving Berlin, Masquerade from Phantom of the Opera, Pick A Little from The Music Man and the gospel favorite Let Everything that Hath Life and Breath with soloist Dennis Johnson.

Special performances will include a women’s group singing My Romance by Rodgers and Hart and a men’s group performing the country western classic El Paso. Two husband and wife duets will also be featured, with Rod and Carol Tornquist singing Simon and Garfunkel’s The Boxer, and Braden and Kylie Ashworth performing Fire Escape by Imaginary Future.
