Doosan Bobcat donation supports M State diesel program
Doosan Bobcat North America has donated three Bobcat® machines to Minnesota State Community and Technical College to support the Diesel Equipment Technology program on the college’s Moorhead campus. “Our partnership with Doosan Bobcat has spanned many years, benefitting countless technicians and students with hands-on training and observation,” said Jim Bainer, Diesel Equipment Technology instructor. “We are appreciative of this donation and the impact it will have on current and future technicians.” Bainer said the donated equipment gives M State diesel students an opportunity to troubleshoot, service, repair and rebuild compact equipment and learn advanced equipment technologies. The M State program also provides top instruction for service technicians employed at Bobcat equipment dealerships. The donated equipment includes a T770 compact track loader, an A300 skid steer loader and a V417 versa-handler. All are machines that are commonly used in the agriculture, road construction, landscaping and construction industries. By focusing on technical colleges, Doosan Bobcat has been able to support and nurture individuals’ aspirations in STEM-related studies (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) by helping to energize a future pipeline of skilled professionals. These STEM programs are fundamental to the company’s continued success and growth of a qualified employee base. “The hands-on training programs help take individuals’ natural talents and creativity and mold them into useful skills that can help build a rewarding career,” said Laura Ness Owens, director of marketing for Doosan Bobcat. “By partnering with technical colleges, we can help turn an interest in technology into valuable skills that can be used later on in the equipment industry. This partnership is something we take great pride in at Doosan Bobcat.” Doosan Bobcat North America is the U.S. and Canadian subsidiary of Doosan Bobcat Inc., an industry leader in the engineering, manufacturing and marketing of compact and heavy construction equipment, articulated dump trucks, generators, air compressors, lighting systems, light compaction equipment and attachments.
